Glass Protection
Boat ceramic coatings are liquid nano-polymers that chemically bond with gelcoat and marine paint to form a hardened, hydrophobic barrier. They protect vessels against UV-induced oxidation, saltwater corrosion, and environmental staining, making routine washes dramatically faster and lasting between 1 to 5 years.
Benefits
- Defends against saltwater and UV damage
- Prevents oxidation and fading
- Makes washing faster and easier
- Enhances gloss and water beading
- Protects gel coat, metal, glass, and marine surfaces
Our Process
Protecting boat glass involves applying specialized marine-grade ceramic coatings or nano-sealants to repel water, salt, and UV rays. The process requires a thorough wash, deep decontamination with a dedicated glass polish to remove mineral stains, and careful application of the protective liquid, followed by a 1-to-24 hour curing period.
1. Thorough Wash & Decontamination: Rinse the glass to remove loose dirt and salt. Wash with a pH-neutral marine soap and dry completely.
2. Surface Prep: Use a marine glass polish (or a clay bar) to remove embedded contaminants, water spots, and hard mineral stains. Wipe the glass down with an isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution to remove any polish residue and oils.
3. Coating Application: Apply a marine glass coating (such as IGL Marine Glass Guard or NANO4-BOATGLASS) to a microfiber applicator pad. Work in small, overlapping sections (e.g., 30 × 30 cm) to ensure even coverage.
4. Curing & Buffing: Allow the liquid to haze according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 1 to 10 minutes), then gently buff off the excess with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
5.Final Cure: Keep the boat out of direct rain and water for at least 12 to 24 hours while the chemical bond solidifies.

FAQ
How long does ceramic coating actually last
Typically 18–24 months on gelcoat, depending on storage and maintenance. Interior areas last longer.
Does ceramic coating prevent oxidation?
It drastically slows oxidation but doesn’t stop it forever. Proper maintenance still matters.
Can I still wax over ceramic coating?
No. It defeats the purpose and interferes with the hydrophobic effect.
