Liquid Paint Protection Film (LPF)

The primary application area for liquid PPF is the front end of the vehicle: hood, front bumper, front fenders, side mirrors, and A pillars. These panels receive the highest impact from road debris, rock chips, ultraviolet exposure, and environmental contamination. They are also the areas where traditional PPF seam lines are most visible and most prone to lifting over time.

Because liquid PPF is installed in liquid form and cures into a continuous film, there are no cut lines or panel edges within the treated area, regardless of surface complexity. Whether the surface includes compound curves, recessed housings, or sculpted transitions, the coverage remains seamless.

Liquid Paint Protection

Our Process

In aviation, “Liquid Paint Protection Film” (or sprayable/peelable coatings) provides a seamless, aerodynamic alternative to traditional vinyl sheets. It protects aircraft from runway debris, UV rays, and hydraulic fluids through a precise, multi-step process

1. Decontamination and Surface Prep: Before application, the aircraft must be thoroughly washed, decontaminated, and polished to remove existing oxidation, runway grime, and oils. Any lingering polish oils or waxes will prevent the liquid film from bonding to the substrate.

2. Taping and Disassembly: Any exposed trim, rivets, or sensitive seals near the application areas are carefully masked to prevent overspray. On aircraft, it is often required to carefully dismantle small panels to ensure a proper coating edge that will not lift during flight.

3. Application: The liquid polyurethane film is typically sprayed or manually applied in heavy, overlapping layers. The applicator ensures the liquid evenly covers complex aerodynamic curves and edges, sealing the surface in a continuous.

4. Curing: The applied coating is allowed to cure. Depending on the specific formulation, this may involve an air-dry cross-linking phase or UV-curing process to form a solid protective layer of approximately 4 to 10 microns.
