Our Process

1. Preparation & Cleaning:

Create a Dust-Free Environment: Turn off any fans or air conditioners to prevent dust from circulating while you work.

Wipe Down: Use the wet wipe (usually alcohol-based) to thoroughly clean the screen, removing fingerprints and smudges.

Dry and Remove Dust: Buff the screen dry with a microfiber cloth. Just before applying, dab the screen with the included dust-removal sticker to catch any floating lint

2. Alignment:

Test Fit: Before peeling off the protective film, hold the tempered glass over the screen to visualize exactly how it lines up with the camera, sensors, and edges.

Use a Frame: Many modern protectors come with a snap-on alignment frame. If yours has one, clip it onto your phone now for a foolproof fit.

3. Application:

Peel the Backing: Peel the plastic backing off the glass, being very careful not to touch the sticky adhesive side.

Lay it Down: Holding the glass by the edges at a slight angle, carefully align the top and bottom, and gently drop it onto the screen.

Press to Adhere: Tap the center of the glass lightly; you will see it begin to magically adhere to the screen on its own.

4. Bubble Removal & Troubleshooting:

Squeegee: If you have trapped air bubbles, wrap your microfiber cloth around a rigid plastic card (like a credit card) and gently push the bubbles from the center outward to the edges of the screen.

Dust Under the Glass: If a speck of dust caused a bubble, use the edge of a credit card to slowly and gently lift the corner near the bubble. Use the dust-removal sticker to fish out the dust particle, and then lay the glass back down.

FAQ

What is the primary difference between annealed glass and tempered glass?

The main difference lies in their strength and how they break. Annealed glass is standard glass that breaks into large, sharp, and dangerous shards. Tempered glass, through a thermal tempering process, is significantly stronger and, when broken, shatters into thousands of small, relatively blunt pieces (dicing), making it a much safer option for human impact areas.

Yes, high-performance 3M security film is engineered to drastically increase glass integrity and significantly delay forced entry. By holding the glass together even after it shattered, it transforms a quick smash-and-grab opportunity into a prolonged, noisy event, providing valuable time for security response and deterring intruders.

Absolutely. Unlike tempered glass, which shatters into dangerous projectiles during an explosion, security window film is designed to absorb and dissipate blast energy. It keeps glass fragments contained within the frame, dramatically reducing the risk of injury from flying debris and maintaining the building’s integrity. High-performance films meet stringent blast mitigation standards like GSA TS01 and ASTM F1642.

Installing security window film is a far less disruptive process than replacing tempered glass. Film is applied to existing windows, avoiding the need for demolition, heavy equipment, and extensive labor. This means minimal operational downtime for businesses, shorter project timelines, and no compromise to the building’s weather seal, offering a cost-effective and efficient upgrade.
