Paint Correction

Defined more simply, paint correction removes oxidation that dulls the paint, minor scratches that are not deep enough to pierce the clear coat, and swirl marks from incorrect washing. Paint correction provides a revitalized and showroom-like surface by restoring the paint’s depth, shine, and clarity with the aid of machinery and professional-grade polishing solutions.

Our Process

1. Preparation & Decontamination: Before any polishing begins, the car must be thoroughly washed and stripped of any existing waxes or sealants.

2. Compounding (Heavy Defect Removal): Compounding is the most aggressive stage of paint correction, designed to remove deeper scratches, heavy swirls, and oxidation.

3. Polishing (Refinement): Because compounding uses highly abrasive pads and liquids, it often leaves behind a slight haze or micro-marring in the clear coat. The polishing stage fixes this.

4. Final Prep and Protection: Once the polishing is complete, the paintwork is bare and needs protection from the elements.

FAQ

How much would a full paint correction cost?

When it comes to paint corrections with a professional detailer, the cost ranges from $500 – $2000 depending on factors such as size of the vehicle and type of paint used. Having multiple stages can add more costs to this average price range.

A process called paint correction is used to remove various imperfections from the vehicle’s exterior such as swirl marks, scratches and oxidation. Unlike polishing, which simply enhances the look of your car, this requires skill in order for it to be done correctly with an optimum outcome.

A paint correction process is necessary for vehicles that need minor to major cosmetic work. The entire procedure involves three steps of cutting compound, which eventually move on to a medium and final polish stage. This can take from two days up to one week depending on the condition of the car’s exterior paint job.

Paint correction is a process which involves using machines and polishing compounds to improve the surface of the paint by eliminating scratches, swirl marks, marring and other blemishes from its clear coat. This ultimately allows for smoother finishing on any car’s exterior.
